Has anyone converted the single exhaust system of a 1949 Model 62 to a dual exaust ?
You might give a call to Kepich Exhaust in Ft. Meyers Florida- He makes exhaust systems for old Cads, including dual exhaust conversions for many. 1-800-365-5764

Hi frank. I purchased my 49 62s coupe with dual exhaust already installed. This modification will require a hole torched into the left X frame rail to match the oem right X rail exhaust pipe hole. On mine. The crossover pipe was removed, then a 3/8 thick metal cap was machined to block off the right exh manifold crossover hole.
Paul - Thanks for your reply.
Jeff - Thanks to you also. Does your system have a crossover pipe somewhere along the way connecting the left and right pipes to equalize pressure, etc. ? I was concerned about running an exhaust pipe on the left side sort of duplicating the route of the right side because of the fuel line and brake line running along there, and also close to the fuel tank at the rear. Any comments would be appreciated.
Roger. Ill snap a picture of the exh pipe exiting the left manifold and the routing of near the master cylinder etc and forward it to you today. 5 years of driving with this system and zero problems. No balance tube was used and it ran just fine.
