Title: 1939 cadillac interior colors
Post by: myren kohlhorst 17794 on March 24, 2005, 06:42:47 AM
Looking for information , Im in the process of restoring my 6119 cadillac. Can anyone help with what is or are the correct colors.
1-Steering column looked to be dark gray all the way to gearbox, but is black inside of the hub after I pulled off the steering wheel. The steering wheel hub is brown.
2-The heater is brown as are the front kick boards.
3-Under the arm rests the material looks to be a reddish brown, possabley burgendy, but the fadding of all the interior looks light brown.
4- All the door window escusions are wood graned at there bottoms as is the dash and the rear ash tray lids. The rest of the window escusions are a light gray or tan looking.
5- The rear ash tray lids are wood grained with the lip of the tray housing the cavern green of the car exterior.
6- The rubber floor mat in the front is brown, as is the rear.
7- Clutch, brake and gas pedel are black.
So much brown makes think the steering column is the wrong color, or was this normal to have so many colors back then? Cant find anyone in the last 5 years with a origional car to ask for any help or pictures. Thanks to all.
