Title: NO 1927 PORDS, DONT BET ON IT!

Its late, so I will tell a story.
In 1926, Pord shut down the assembly lines and stopped turning-out Model "T" and started making Model "A"s.Only thing wrong, the As didnt show up until late 1927 as a 1928 model.
Westly Pord,of Minot, ND, had a lot of request for trucks.
Only problem,he couldnt get any from Pord, as pord had stopped making vehicles at the end of the 1926 production.
The owner of Westly Pord had his parts department price out what it would cost to assembly a model "T" truck. Turns out it was only about $100.00 more then he had been paying.
So, he had the P.D. order-in the necessary parts and put his machnics to work assembling trucks.(about 2-300)
Asked what he did for S/Ns, he said he just continued-on from the last truck he had received from the factory.
( could be some duplicated number out there, but who cares at this point in time )
He ordered sub-assemblies,et, rear axles, frames,transmissions,engines,etc.
one thing todays buyers would find strange, the "cab" was an optional extra.
Hope this hast been too boreing.
