Title: 1964 cadillac limo from seat removal
Post by: Kelly Hansen on May 04, 2005, 11:24:12 PM
I have a 1965 (Same as 1964) cadillac limo without the divider window.  I need to remove the front seat for upholstering.  Although there is no divider window there is still a partition between the front seat and rear passenger compartment.

Does anyone know if the front seat can be removed without removing the partition? Any advice on how this is done.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I have a 61 limo with a divider window.  If your limo is like mine, the front seat bottom cushion simply lifts out.  To remove the front seat back, power the front seat forward.  There should be a piece of leather or fabric (depending on how your interior is trimmed out) covering the gap between the divider and the back of the seat.  This material is fastened with staples. You will have to remove enough of this material from the corners of the seat to get at the rear of the seat.  In the top of  each corner there should be a bolt that holds the seat to the frame.  Once these two bolts are removed, the seat should simply lift out.
