I need two spoke wheels for a 1984 Eldorado. You may contact me direct if you have two rims to sell. Thanks
Jim

I might have two...but there were several styles by different manufacturers...can you post an image as to the style you have?

Hopefully a picture is attached.

Jim,

They are aftermarket wheels, mainly installed by dealers as very expensive dealer add-on's.  I had a set on a 1985 Eldorado, and the outer ring always made a lot of noise with no way to keep it tighter on the rim.  I finally laid a bead of clear silicone on the back of it, and that kept it quiet for a while.  The caps are always a problem too, as there were many variations of these.  The caps are plastic.  These wheels also rusted quite easily, and I used to keep them clean with a wire wheel cleaner that smelled like diluted battery acid.  It took the rust away, but I am sure that it also made the surface more prone to rusting up again.

Personally, I think you would be better off with the steel wheels, and the correct wire caps.  I never had problems with those, but always had problems with noise and balance with the wires.

There were some extremely rare Cadillac wire wheels that I have seen on Eldos and Sevilles, but they were more of an aluminum finish, not chrome.

I hope you can find some, if that's what you really want.

Good Luck,

Brian

The car belongs to my grandson. I got the aftermarket wire wheels from Lars but they set too wide and rubbed the fenders. I am giving those to the next guy on the list. The problem with his wheels is the noise and I fear failure. Where can I get steel wheels and wire caps? That sounds like a good solution. Anyone have a set of those to spare?
