If your local NAPA does not have one in stock they should be able to get one

Thanks, but the problem I have is that several auto parts stores in town have a temperature sensor that would work but I haven't found one that has the correct connection.  They all have a flat tip like a nail instead of the round tip. I know I could easily change my wiring connector to adapt to the sending unit but I guess I am too picky in that I want to keep my Cadillac as correct as possible.
Thanks

I have a 1961 in which my temperature sensor went out.  Without identifying the vendor, I ordered an aftermarket sensor.  It looked like the original.  However, once installed installed we determined that it was not calibrated the same as the original, although warranted to be the same.   My solution was to remove the temperature sensor from my 59 parts car, which solved the problem.   I would strongly recommend that you watch ebay or search swap meets to find an NOS one.  I should have one since I purchased a NOS one to have in the event the one in my 59 or 61 goes out.  IF the 59-61 will fit the 62 I might consider selling.  I will be going to Auburn this weekend and can look for you if you wish.

Yeah I'm not totally sure if that sensor would work but if it does than I would definatley be interested in buying it if you do decide to sell it. Also, I would really appreciate it if you do keep your eye out on that sensor during your travels.
So you have a 59 and a 61?  I had a 61 Coupe Deville but sold it.  Now I have a 1952 Fleetwood and  a 1962 Coupe Deville but my dream car is the 1959 Fleetwood and the 1958 Fleetwood.  With that being said, I am willing to give up both cars and cash--if need be-- to get my dream car(s).  Oh well, just thought I'd throw that out there.

My 59 is a Sedan de Ville and my 61 is a limo.  I have no intention of selling either.  But if the right price were to be offered, who knows.

You should have an email conocerning the the temperature sending unit.
