My rear pinion seal was leaking on my 55 series 62 so my mechanic removed it to replace it. I looked at it and found 2 seals in the housing. I have found several places that sell a 2 5/8" and 3 5/8" O.D. seal. My problem is that the WHOLE seal housing and all came out very hard so was pretty beat up in the process. Was this a big mistake? The mechanic said there was no way it would come out easily. The housing which I hope is just one big buyable unit has "National 6852" on it. He is trying to locate a supplier ,but I thought I would ask you all too. Thanks!  Paul

Paul,
Try Detroit Ball Bearing. They always seem to have seals, as long as you have the seal number, which you do. I know they used to have a location in Flint, Mi, and I'm sure in other Michigan locations.  Same goes for bearings/bushings.
