Powder Coating Rims with Original 61 Wheel discs

I have been told in the past do not powdercoat your rims if you are using wheel discs.

They said the powdercoating was to hard and slick. The locking tabs on the wheel disc could not bite into the surface to hold themselves in place.

That might be true, but I was so impressed with the finish on my frame coming back from the powdercoater, that I wanted to ask the question again.

So to those with 61-64 vehicles. How many of you have lost a wheel disc while driving. What conditions lead to you loosing one.  What are your thoughts between paint and powdercoat here
