Language lesson of the day:

The Islandic language is derived from the old Norse language. It belongs to the Germanic language group, as does English, German, Dutch and the Nordic languages (Norwegian, Danish, Swedish and Icelandic).

The difference in English and say, German or Norwegian and Icelandic is that nouns are genderised. That is why Johann refers to a car as a "he". In German a car will be "das Auto" , Norwegian "bilen", Icelandic - I don`t know - but I reckon it`s masculine. ?? Bilur??

It doesn`t mean that Johann beleives his car is masculine of feminine. It`s just the way his language is built
