I went to an auction on Sat Aug 8 and the 1st car was a 1972 Eldorado convertible, red with new black convertible top. It was a project - straight and complete. Crusher price was $250, starting bid.

The car received no bids and is probably already crushed.  I just found that kind of interesting that no one wanted a convertible flagship Cadillac. I do not personally like the 71-77 Eldorados but respect the work Wayne Kady was asked to do in an era when bigger was still better.

Imagine what you could do if you started by only spending $275.00

Boy, wish I knew about it.

But then, I am too far away, and won't be coming back for a while so storeage would be a killer.

You would have had to fight me for it if I was there.

I stood above it as the auction personnel came over.  I did not check it out closely wish I had but it was straight, complete, no rust perforations but no doubt had some rust as it was a Wisconsin car but also wonder if because of what it was - a flagship American convertible circa 1972 - if it wasn't garaged and not driven much in the winter?

Several cars went to the crusher.  But this one shocked me because it started the auction off. It was going to be no nonsense. They did not even stop and say the usual "Folks, now hold on, do you want this car crushed?" They just went "Can I get one thousand, one thousand, $500, $500, $250, $250??? Sold for $250!  And they had announced that was the crusher price before it started.

unbelivable. would be perfect parts car for me. Cheapest eldorado here is in Lithuania I  saw was over $2000. And it was after fire. no top no seats left. If  just shiping and taxes was cheaper I would buy few such eldos.
1975 eldo convertible - 8.2 liters (500cid) will never understand, will always love.
1979 Chevy caprice station wagon 8 seater -not restored, notrepaired, but starts and drives anytime.
Guys, you were making wonderfull cars somewhere  over the ocean! (some years ago).

The rusted out '71 Convertible I purchased in New York for parts last year cost me $1,000.00, and boy, what I left behind fetched $75.00 at the crusher.

PS.   Not much went to the Crusher though.
