I have a 74 eldo convertible and am interested in fixing the two door locks, both of which do not currently work.  Can anyone give me a brief lesson on how to repair these, including the proper access to the door locks and how to know whether I need new parts or can simply correct the non-working ones.  Thanks for any input.

What's not working?
The lock cylinder where the key goes?
The power lock button? Which side?
The lock mechanism on the door jamb?

The power locks do not work, but in addition, the locks themselves are stuck in the "up" position.  In other words, I cannot even manually push the locks down to lock the doors.  When I put the key in the door, the key goes in fine but doesn't move at all - there is resistance and the lock button does not move.  Thanks for replying and following up - I haven't done this before so I don't know if everything needs replacing or what.  Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Start with shooting some WD-40 into the lock and see if it frees up anything.  Just a suggestion...

the electric lock solenoids may be rusted, remove the door panel to get a better look.
