Hi,

Does any know if a 1940 Lasalle series 50 radiator will fit in my 1937 lasalle 5027 coupe?  The radiator in the car cannot be repaired.

Also I do not have the radiator shutters,  will this be a problem?

Thanks,

Rich

The 1942 Master parts book says NO.
  Radiator with tanks
   3114347  37-50,60:38-50,60
  3115151   40-50,52,62,72:1941
  Radiator core only
  3114359   37-50,60,65.70.75: 38-50,60:38-65 exc 160WB
  3115275   39-50,61,75:40-50,52,60s,62,72,75:1941:1942

Even if you tryed to trade tanks, this implies you can't make it work. Warren

Thank you Warren,

Any ideas where I could get a radiator that would fit?

Thanks you,

Rich

Hi there, you can try E-bay i have seen them there from time to time, another thing is to contact the sellers of 37 parts, sometimes they have other parts that are not listed,i know it has worked for me before, some people think something is not a sellable item and just cant be bothered to list it,this seller is parting out a 37,maybe give him a try. They used down-flow radiators up through the 60s, so as long as it fits and you aren't afraid to build some brackets you have a lot of choices.  You could probably use a common Mustang radiator if you wanted.  I don't condone going unoriginal, but I am a realist and I know sometimes it just doesn't make financial sense to seek perfection.  My car has a radiator out of a 52 Lincoln because mine was missing, my friend had one and it was a perfect fit.
