All,

I'm in the middle of rebuilding a fuel pump for my '42 as a spare.  The pump was a flea market find.

I took this pump apart a month ago and am now putting it back together.  In spite of my notes, I am having issues reassembling.  When I assembled the fuel portion of the pump, the internal spring against the diaphragm  is exerting so much pressure that I am unable to budge the diaphragm assembly from the vacuum portion of the pump by pushing upward.  I have been through my notes thinking I did not reassemble the arm assembly properly, but am fairly certain I did.  I thought I'd taken good enough notes, but obviously not!

Does anyone have a good pump schematic?  Or can someone spot my error from my description?

All advice appreciated!

If it's a Rochester, go to the List and look for New Age Metal. It has free online manuals for every Rochester ever made.

Oh right. Gotta watch out for those Rochester Fuel Pumps. They're tricky to rebuild!

In my defense, I was really tired after work yesterday.
