I am assisting the heirs to an estate, and am listing a 1925 Cadillac Touring Car now available for sale.

Brief history:  Three owner car, always in the Dallas, TX area.  Former member purchased the car in 1966 and did a complete "hobbyist" restoration of the car, including a full engine rebuild by a now deceased mechanic who was known for being meticulous with vintage engine rebuilds.  He did drive the car on many tours, and I would estimate that there are perhaps 3,000 miles on the rebuilt engine.  Owner wanted to drive the car on tours, so he had higher gears machined for the transmission in order to maintain higher driving speeds (this was an expensive upgrade even in the early 1970's).  Car won many awards and trophies during tours and local events, but the owner tired of the hobby by the 1980's, and the car was parked in his building along with several other collectibles.

Now, with the owner's passing, the car is being offered for sale for the first time in 45 years.

Car is 100% complete, and has held up well during storage.  There are a couple of areas where the lacquer has popped or has been polished through, and all of the nickel plating would benefit from a thorough polishing, but otherwise the car makes a very decent appearance.  Seat covers have some patina, but again, they are very presentable.  The Vicodec roofing and trim material appears to be in excellent shape.  Side curtains were stored flat, and are in good condition, with the windows all clear and not faded or fogged.

I am not overly familiar with this vintage of vehicle, but with the aid of the (original) operators manual, and a copy of a service manual (both included in the sale), I was able to start the car after draining the oil and water and refilling, cleaning the plugs, priming the cylinders, and using an external fuel source.  The car did not smoke, or leak fluids. After running the car for some 30 minutes or so, there was no indication of overheating.  Oil pressure and amp gauges all indicated proper function. I ran the car through all gears, and the clutch as well as brakes appear to function as designed.  The tires, although showing plenty of tread, do have flat spots that are not likely to "drive out".

The car is located in Waxahachie, TX (40 miles South of Dallas, TX).  Viewings can be scheduled with advanced notice.

Car is offered at $35,000.00  OBO.
