I have blue carpet in my 75 Eldo Convertible, with a white top and seats.  I would like to replace the carpeting and I notice that the premolded carpets are only about 150.00 or so on line.  Is there good experience with this?  I also need extra for the seat backs and door pannels.  I am also interested in gettiing original style floor mats.  ahs anyone ever seen a retailer for them?  (The big single fron floor mat)

My concern is rust.  if I remove these seats am I likely to never get them back in properly due to rust issues?  Has anyone had experience with this?  the car is in good shape so hopefully not too difficult.  I searched older posts and didn't see this particular item addressed.  Advice?  Thanks.

Hi,
I did my 77 Eldorado a few years back and went to my local upholstery shop to order the carpet. They couldn't match the color so I decided to get as close as possible.
Its not a hard job to do. Theres 4 bolts on a bench seat (which mine had). Take the seat out and remove the seat track. Screw in the seat track bolts back to the floor lossely after removal so you'll know where to cut the carpet to reinstall the seat track. (I think yours would be a 2 piece replacement carpet). Lay down the carpet and cut around where the seat track bolts are. Remove the bolts. Lay the seat track back in and reinstall everything. By the way- after I did my 77 with the slightly off color, I found the right color at www.accmats.com Thats right, I did this job on my 77 twice in 1 year!  :) I recommend them and I'm sure they can sell you extra material for the door panels. Original floor mats are not reproduced and its hard to find n.o.s. ones.
Good luck,
Joe

I thought there was someone making the mats but it was only the later carpet style?  Or maybe I got the wrong and its only the earlier rubber type?
