Much has been noted on my recent insert on the trunk.  Much of it is irrelevant if you own a 52 series LaSalle or 60S Cadillac.

I have completely gutted the trunk on my CCP as far as upholstery goes.  When I questioned whether a lid covered the  storage space between the exterior trunk edge and the spare tire I did not realize that there are two notches (for lack of a better term)on the ledge of this storage space  into which two corresponding metal tags on the lid fit. See photo of the  52  series lid.  It is my opinion that if you don't fiind the notches, your car did not have the lid.  For those who are wondering what this lid looks like, take a look at the photos.  This configuration only pertains to the 52 series that had the trunk lid fasten at the bottom of the trunk, not to some 52 series that fastened by means of long rods to the side panels of the trunk. THis obviously has no relevance to 50 series LaSalles.
I am still curious as to what covered the storage space between the spare tire and the back seat.
