does anybody know the extact year car this 8 track belongs with? I think the 8 tracks are a cool novelty to have with your car. I've seen this one come up on Ebay but nobody seems to know what year its for exactly.
Thanks,

I agree, looks like early 70's judging by the printing.

Looks more like late 60s to me.     68 or 69 I'd say.

I can say for sure it is NOT from 74, 75, 76, 77, 78 or 79.

Seems to me the box or tape might have a copyright or print date on it?  Also, one might be able to approximate from some of the music on the tape?

Here is the back. Its from the late 60's to early 70's but what exact year? No copywrite or dates at all on the tape. Judging by Blood Sweat and Tears is in the contemporary section of music, I would guess 69, or 70. Its a mystery.

I thought RCA was the biggest supplier to GM as far as tapes.  RCA was always good at including the year on their tapes and records.  For some reason, Columbia, Capitol and, going WAY back, Liberty never did.

Is there a stock number on it?  Maybe we can track it through a Columbia archive.

It's hard to read, but it looks like "Sometimes in Winter" by BS&T? That would be '69. But the Streisand song "The Morning After" would have been '73. I guess you could keep checking release dates of the songs and figure it would be the most recent. But the tape probably doesn't have the latest releases for the year it was produced. Too expensive to secure rights.

I have an under-dash Cadillac 8 track player from my 69 convertible if there is any interest It used to work but I don't know any more I also have a box full of tapes  JeRita

Just from looking around it appears that in the mid 70's the dates were printed on the tapes so this has to be earlier than that.

Did other makes offer these tapes?
Did they ship with the cars or was this something the dealer threw in?
