Has anyone developed a formula using current paints for the 1941 Oceano Blue?  PPG rep tried to re-create the lacquer formula with the current lacquer colorants, but it came out quite far off.  Color matching has the side color virtual identical to Toyota 779 Capri Sea Blue, but the face is brighter due to metallic content.  (Please no comments about the Toyota paint - got to start somewhere)  I have pristine areas of the factory paint that were under the front fenders (no sun or respray coverage) that I am using as a standard.  Before we dive off the custom match deep end, thought I would see if someone had already solved this.

Thank you!

There is a copmany selling paint on the internet that claims they can duplicate any color. Call 858 909 2110 and check them out. I have not used them but I know other members have.

is the best source for correctly matched vintage automobile paint that I've found.  I've been using them for years and just ordered more paint for my '41 this morning (gunmetal and berkely gray).  You don't need their reducers or hardeners (depending upon which way you're going). Just get that stuff locally and save the shipping cost.  Ordering over the web is a little fussy.  Sometimes you can get them over the phone (800) pretty quickly and sometimes not.   They'll generall ship within the week.  I've never bothered with insuring the order.  They have the original color chips for each year posted on their site.  They're in Califoria so mind the time difference if that applies.  I think they're a subsidiary of TCP Global.  I've ordered gallons and quarts with no difference in the match.  A quart of most of their stuff is generally around 60-70 bucks.
