Harada CB antenna for Eldorado

So I installed a Harada MT-3 CB antenna on my Eldorado. The previous antenna was not even a CB antenna.
CB now kind of works, not great though, but did get chatter on some channels. The antenna came with a coupler, but I don’t know if I need to install it. Does anyone have an experience with the Harada antennas? Do I need the coupler? The antenna was fully extended when I tested it.
FM works fine.
