Gentlemen,

I am in need of a temperatrure sending switch for a 1948 Cadillac Fleetwood 60S.  I am looking for a new (NOS or OEM) one and my regular suppliers do not have any in stock.

As it is summer here and the temp can get pretty high, I run fearfull of overheating.  Any leads would be appreciated.

Thank you, Richard

I found one, thank you!

Bought it from AlCads, but the "pellet" seemed a bit different, and being the 1st time I saw this part, I called to verify it was the correct part and spoke with "Ed."

Me  " I bought a temperature sending switch and I have a concern about it."

Ed  " What do you want?"

Me "I'm calling to check if I have the correct part.  The threads appear correct, the connection appears correct, BUT the pellet is much larger."

Ed "What year is your car?"

Me  " A 1948."

Ed  "How old is that?"

Me  "65 years old."

Ed  "So what is your problem?"

Me  "I just want to know if this is the correct part before I try to install it."

Ed  "Yeah, it's correct."

Me  "thank you for your help."

Ed  "CLICK!!!"

Richard,
Many people are unaware of the customer "service" there.

Let me know how it works for you because I need one too for my 41.

S.Silver,

AlCads is 125.00 + shipping= 138.00

This other place was sent to me by another clc member who refuses to do business with them (AlCads) and it looks like the same part.
Just make sure it is made in the USA and NOT China.

I am not sure on the price as you have to call them and I have received mine at this time.  (Let me know.  A small supplier only wanted 45.00, but was out of them.)  I have temporarily set up an aftermarket temp gauge which is much more accurate and only cost $20.00 at any auto supply store.  I AM trying to hook it up to the left head and the original on the right head.  I just can't get a good "bite" on the left head as it is a port with a square cast iron bolt.  It will come out and I have seen others running both.  I am waiting to see these people again and find out how they removed theirs.  No trick to it, just 65 years of use and NO clearance.

Keep me posted, Richard
