1947 serial number locations

Where can I find the chassis serial number on the frame.??

Unless Cadillac changed it after the war the numbers are on the top of the frame just behind the left engine mount.

It changed in 1942.  The frame number can be found on top of the right (passenger side) frame rail between the motor mount and the firewall - usually around where the starter and battery box are. 

If you can't see it, you may need to sand away any rust or scale in that location.

Would be curious to see what they did with the 'hidden' additional VIN #'s.  My 41 had a duplicate chassis VIN on the left frame rail under the front passenger area, as below.
