Flywheel etc.

In other words, everything needed to change an auto to stick -shift, including advice from anyone who's done it!

Please reply or pm me!

Thanks,

Very few '50s had stick shift, about 2%, and many of these were hearses.  Thererfore, your best bet may be to find a '50 hearse with stick shift being parted out and buy the necessary parts.  You could even do it by buying a running hearse, and after converting your car you could install your car's Hydramatic components in the hearse and then sell it.  (FYI: right now there is a '50 Series 61 4-door with stick shift for sale at the Volo Museum in Chicago, which is only the 2nd '50 passenger car with stick I've known about.)

Years ago I converted my '49 to stick shift and the most difficult part of the job was removing, converting and re-installing the steering column, including the directional signal wiring.  Installing the clutch pedal and linkage also took time.  On the other hand, changing the flywheel, bell housing and transmission as well as installing the clutch pressure plate and disc was relatively straight-forward.  When you get all your parts contact me if you need further advice.

Stew,
I have the flywheel only. It has good teeth in case your find the conversion with a bad flywheel.
