Hello,

I bought a 1956 Cadillac de Ville last year and want to get a vintage car registration for the vehicle in Germany. This means, I need an origine core carburator (2370S) or one that was usually built into this series from 1956 to 1965 as a follower. What I found in my vehicle is a remake called 6-1140. On an internet search I found somebody, who claimes to have taken this type of carb out of a 1956 Caddi Fleetwood. Hmm...? What was it built for?  I have pictures of it. The carb remanufactorers on the internet do not respond to my inquiry. Can anybody help my with a source?

Manfred,
I'm on your side! But... please tell me why the authorities in your country are concerned about an original carb on YOUR  car??? That doesn't make  any sense. I'll wait for your response.

Too much fun is more than you can have.

Bob,

they are satisfied with all common model substitutions of the main components, not older than 10 years from factory outlet.

Did you want me to tell me, that the carb I have is the original?
I did not find the original Carter carb tag, it was lost. I only have the plate with the patent numbers, starting with RE21610 and on the cast iron the no. 6-1140, followed by a C and a R in a cicle, a bigger A in a circle is nearby. These letters are raised and cast together with the iron block.
Too, there is a number stamped into the iron surface: 1155
So the question is: Is this the original Carter 2370S or an exact remanufactoring and which year was it produced?

Some pictures from the carb would be more efficient! I have a Carter carb on my '56, but have no idea about your numbers.
