A question for 1965-1966 Cadillac aficionados:

My newly acquired 1965 non-air-conditioned Sedan de Ville has the heater hoses connected to the water pump and radiator. While perusing my shop manual I saw that non-air-conditioned 1965 Cadillacs have both heater hoses connected to the water pump. The illustrations for the air-conditioned cars are somewhat vague but I am wondering if I should re-route both heater hoses to the water pump. Right now the lower outlet on the water pump is capped off.

Any light shed would be welcome.
