I have a pin hole leak in a round plug in the engine valley. There appear to be two (Hard to be sure with the paint) in the cast iron bulkhead in the middle of the valley directly under the carburetor.

What size are they??  I need to get them as soon as possible as today was supposed to be my engine first start up after rebuild day.

I'd love to see a picture of that. Isn't that the fitting for the lifter oil line?

There is one on each side of the oil line fitting

I just had mine apart today and never saw that. Like you said, must be hidden by the paint!

Joe, I added the picture and also refreshed my restoration blog so it is in an early page of the restoration Forum. On the second page of my restoration blog there is a better picture of the pin hole.

I figure this will be costing me about a week and only a small amount of cash.

Gary, I think you are referring to the two soft plugs in the coolant passage connecting the right and left banks of the engine.  They can rust out and start to leak.  You should pop both of them out and replace them with new plugs.  I believe they are 1 1/4 in. and while you are at it make sure that the passage is clean because if rust, scale and crud collect in there it can effect proper cooling of the left bank.

I see them now. The paint makes those not even noticeable on my block. Yours looks very nice!

Gary: Here are two pages from the Master Chassis Part List showing the two plugs (103 895) for the engine water cross over pipe that Tom Beaver refers too in his posting.     Bill
