Having enjoyed my 93 Sedan deVille for the past 3 years, I always had my eye out for another that wasn't quite as nice, that I could enjoy driving without worrying about rain, mud etc. I spent hours under the first car detailing, cleaning etc, preparing to return to another Grand National to get her judged in the Senior Class 28, and just cringed at the thought of getting her dirty!

About a week ago, a gent came in my workplace wanting to sell me his black 93. I have known then car for 2 years as we have serviced it, but he had an inflated idea of it's value in the past. Yes it was his mother's car, she had bought it new etc etc etc. Well, the day he came in he had a much more reasonable price in mind, so I made arrangements to go look at it and drive it. Long story short, I brought it home for less than 1/2 of his previous asking price. So now I have twins...... they were built the same week in February in 93 at Lake Orion Assembly. They have exactly the same options. I have the original window stickers for both and the MSRP for both was $35,783. And their VIN numbers are only 503 apart (total production for 93 deVille / Fleetwood was 125, 951)

I have a long standing quirk of naming my cars for their first owners if I know it. The red car (#1) is named Martha June, after her original owner who is now 87 and still calls me to check up on "her" car. When I asked the owner of the black car what his mothers name was.... he looked at me funny and said...Minnie Mae!

I have attached some pics...sorry it was so bright, waited an hour for a cloud but noooo.... LOL

Those are great cars.  I remember them when I worked at the dealer in college.  The Triple Black and triple White Ones were my favorites, but the best sellers here were white with blue and Frost Beige with the dark brown top and neutral leather.  I have also named a few of mine after their original owners.  The "Patina Sisters" as we call them are all four door hardtops from 1958 and had original owners with "B" names.  They are Betty, a black 1958 Buick Limited, Bertha a blue 1958 Fleetwood Sixty Special and Blanche, a Rose Mist and white 1958 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight.

Eric? How about Dearth Vadar!  ;D

That's remarkable to have two manufactured so close together.

They'd do any man's driveway proud.  8)
