Hello all,

I watched a show called "American Pickers"

They came across a Cadillac that was missing the front fenders, the guy that had it said it was a prototype and it had a plaque on the car.

It was a late 40's or early 50's Cadillac.

Anyone see that show and/know about it.  I am curious.

Sorry I can't remember more info on it, if I do I will post.

Hello again,

I came across the episode with the Cadillac in it.

It was a prototype said to be made by Indianapolis Power Works for the 1952 New York fair or something like the fair.

Didn't catch what year car it was but probably 50,51.

Anyone heard of it or know about Indi Power Works? And if they made prototypes?
And like the name they were in Indianapolis where they found the car.

If you want to watch episode it was season 13 episode 1, aired 1-14-15

I mention it here because I thought it would be better if a CLC member or Cadillac enthusiasts should have not a barn deteariating.

I did a search on the website and found this topic:

The topic title is "1948 CADILLAC CUSTOM BODY CADILLAC INDIANAPOLIS".

Below is the pic of the car referenced in this forum topic. Is this car you saw on American Pickers?

Yep....that's the one, interesting story to it.

The 2 pictures are exactly where it showed on the show.

Odd that he says he is in Alabama but the show showed the car in Indiana, I don't recall what the guy's name was that had the car, but probably same guy and probably show listed wrong state.

Thanks for finding info, would be an interesting Cadillac if someone took on the restoration. Obviously wouldn't have a few original parts like the engine and fender/hood.

My guess is they give the wrong location information to keep those with sticky fingers from not being able to locate some of the places they visit.

I appreciate special one offs, concepts and such as well as anybody but I have say this one just doesn't do much for me.  :-\

Me either, remove everything that shows it's a Cadillac except the hub caps lol

At a glance, it looks like something Hudson might have came up with.

I didn't care for the fact that a lot of the Cadillac look was gone, but....if you look at the link R2LAW posted it shows a different hood and fenders, better than the one on immediate picture, but the rear end is still a little odd.

I just wanted for others to see this "custom" Cadillac for a collector in unique Cadillacs, and as I write this it might be something that the "Modified Cadillac Club" member may want to check out.
