Please view the post in the Forum Support forum, it has a poll about making a dark mode (i.e. dark color screens instead of bright white) available. This can be of interest for those that access the forums from a mobile device as dark screens use less battery power. But we need to know whether enough people want this before investing the time to install an extra mode.

I could use some help regarding cracked dash cover on my '73 Elorado.  I removed it as in the shop manual and, knowing my own limitations, I had a vinyl guy repair it.  But he had to fill in all the vent holes for the temperature control sensor due to severe cracking and a poor previous repair there.  We can make new holes but I just cannot find a good photo online of these small holes.  I think it is in a square pattern, but a close up photo would be of great help.  How many holes and what size?  How big is the square pattern?  I'll make a template first and then we'll make the new holes.  The vinyl guy did a good job but he wan't satisfied with the color match and he will get that right.  But in the meantime it would be great to get these small vent holes made.  I (tried to) attached a photo of the cracked dash cover with the bogus repair attempted by former owners and the new and improved repaired cover. Thanks for your help with this from a new guy!

There are 7 holes across and 5 holes up and down.  Trying to get a picture to download from the internet but this will get you started.

2nd picture --- hope you have this piece for the backside of the vent holes and the hose that connects to it --- and the sensor plug in wires!  Your AC system will not work properly without them hooked up.

Eldo and RWD dashtops are the same in '73 --- and I believe '72 also.  Click on the pics. to enlarge.

*Amended to exclude the '71 dash top which I had originally mentioned as being the same as '73.

Thanks Mr Newcome!  That photo and info really helps.  I couldn't find a good photo online.  I have all the parts that go on the back side.  I "rescued" this car before the previous owner tore into it too, too much.

Sadly, the '71 Dash does not have this feature in the dash top, but elsewhere.
