1966 Coupe De Ville... Thoughts on Price

I saw this 1966 Coupe De Ville for sale near my home. 

It's got rust in the body panels, looks like it used to have a vinyl top that was removed and replaced with some sort of material.  Not sure if it runs/drives.  Interior is in better shape than the outside but has some cracks/rips.

I'm considering buying it and parting it out.  I know someone who makes furniture out of parts of old cars (IE the seats, front/back, dashboard) that aren't viable restoration candidates. I'm thinking that may be the best way to preserve the car. The seller wants $1,300.  Does that seem like a reasonable price?

If it runs and drives that seems a little high to OK.  It is mainly a parts car.  I would only buy it if it has more than $1,300 worth of parts, and negotiate down to less than $1,000.  A Cadillac parts place like Honest John's, or USA Parts probably would pay $500-$700 for the car at most.  After you buy it and remove the parts you want, then either part it out or sell it to a local salvage yard or Cadillac Parts place if convenient.  It is not recommend to buy and restore, as a nicer one is out there that will be ultimately cheaper.

Thanks.  I already have a 1971 Eldorado Convertible.  This looked like a parts car from the start.

If I were to buy it this is ultimately what I would want to do with it (not sure what type of furniture I would want)

I don't see much of a business opportunity here. Parting out a car takes a lot of effort and and a lot of time. Probably limited interest in 1966 Cadillac parts for repurposing into furniture or other novelty items.
