I’ve been working on a 70 convertible and am at the point where I need to locate some parts. Thought I’d start with this forum.

As of now, the car has been painted, and a new convertible top has been installed. I removed the entire interior, and it’s at the upholstery shop, just waiting for completion. In the meantime, I’ve started tackling some issues.

Climate control isn’t working properly-Verifying that the vacuum lines are correct and not leaking. Going to order a book from Tim to walk me through the troubleshooting. I hear his book does a good job.

Clock not working-sent it in for the quartz conversion

I need to replace all of my power window switches a sped housings-Mine look terrible and the driver side switch doesn’t roll the driver side window down. If anybody knows where I can get some.......

Windishield washer pump is bad. I’ll order one from OPGI

Replaced all of the rubber seals

New hood felt on its way from OPGI

Pulled the valve covers off and sent them to my body shop buddy to repaint them original color, as well,as the air cleaner assembly. I’ll work on detailing the engine compartment after I tackle the climate control issue.

All in all it’s turning out to be a nice car. It was a three owner, unmolested car, 72,000 miles with one repaint. I had it media blasted, epoxied and did a color change on it.

Kevin,

Your car looks nice. For the driver's side master window switch, I don't know of anyone who makes new switches. I bought a used one for my '68. Captain Cadillac's Cove web site shows they have one on their web site:  https://www.ebay.com/str/captaincadillacscove

Also try Arizona Vintage Parts, Cadillacs Only and Ebay.

Thanks Wes! I’ll check it out.

Test the switch and identify the path of power to the motor before you buy a replacement.  You may find that you just have a wire that cracked where the door swings open.  My dads 67 Rivi had this happen and I have had it happen on my 67 Deville.  If that is the case, you can splice the wire.  I had loftly goals of pulling it apart and fully re-wiring, but routed for the splice.  I'll tear it down some winter when the kids are not bothering me for attention. :D
