Hi there--

I'm looking for the spark plug wire holders for my '48 62-Series with a 346. I have the metal brackets but not the pieces at the end that hold the wires. Any chance someone here has a set out can point me in the right direction to buy new?

Thanks,

David

If you're talking about the strip on metal on top that just holds the wires? these are very easy to make. I had to make a pair for one of my cars once. They can be bent in a vice or the shape punched with a chisel.

Do you happen to have a close-up picture of them? I've only seen pics taken from afar of the engine.

Thanks,

David

Thanks so much Steve. That helps a lot. I'll see if I can fabricate something if someone doesn't chime in here. Your picture is very helpful!

Thanks,

David

Steve, Your example is '41 thru '47. '48 is different. Here is a picture I was able to find but isn't real clear. There is a bakelite or cardboard like wire seperater that attaches to the bracket end. Very hard to find. Hopefully someone has a better picture.       Harry
I was trying to cut and paste a picture but no dice. Here is a link:

Learn something new every day Harry. Correct retainer for wires is not something we have to worry too much about here.

... Interesting... For what I know it may be a different year engine. I'm not shooting for auto judging competitions, but I was curious to see scare they should look like. It looks like I'll probably have to try and fabricate something. My balancer says IGA and doesn't seem to have a line separating 2 of the letters like is depicted in the FSM. I'll have to post a pic here to see what year engine I have.

Thanks guys!

David
