This one is priced right. I know, I know I see the rust spots too but for this price, leave it alone and drive it.  Enjoy it.

Wow. That's a decent Eldo for that money.
Someone here should grab this one.
You know $3000 will buy it. Maybe even $2500.

Needing no major upholstery, running, and a seller that at least sounds like he knows what he's talking about. What's not to like? Boy am I glad that it's so far away...

Appears to be missing many options.

If a CLC member is interested in this model, grab it ASAP--- It will be gone before the end of the week!       As mentioned, the interior says volumes about its life and care. (Or the one with the mature tree growing through the grille is likely still avaiiable!)

Yes it is all about location.  I know of a 1970 Eldorado "fairly close" to me, about 100 miles away that is not selling and I can't seem to find the time to go see it.  So, no way I am going to take a flyer on this one but if it was within 75 miles, sure.

Your observation about the interior is spot on, and the ad is not so brief either in content or photos, to leave people wondering.  It definitely has rust under the vinyl, and no one wants to start owning this car for say $8000, but at asking price, I would 1st clean that vinyl and dry it out with some alcohol, then wax the bejesus out of it, treat it with vinyl conditioner, or all of the above.

And just see how long a person can enjoy the car as is.  Probably 5 + years, at $3200, that's a bargain.

If you didn't fix the rust, you would *know* it was there, eating your precious metal away, 24/7.

You might be able to shrug that feeling off at first. But then you'd start waking up at 3 AM, knowing that another millimeter of your precious sheet metal had gone the Evil Oxidation route while you carelessly cavorted the days away. Guilt would accumulate.

Shaking and sweating, you might turn to Bondo and a rattle can for a quick fix. But that would only increase your thirst for pristine, properly protected sheet metal.

Within a few weeks, you'd crack. You'd casually drop by local body shops on your way home from work, nervously tossing out "speculative" questions about "rust prevention" and "sandblasting techniques."

At the end of another month, you'd be carrying your checkbook at all times, ready to schedule major metal surgery at the slightest suggestion of an opening in some custom shop's schedule.

Oh yes. We all know how this ends.

THe 70 Eldo in Maine was sold almost immediately--- I received a private email from a clc member in NYCity who was seriously interested when you initially put it up on the clc site on Monday.  I said I'd go inspect on Tuesday--- GONE... this one looks to be in much better condition and at 1/2 the price.  James
