**UPDATE**: I have located a freshly rebuilt 346 Flathead engine in Florida. Thanks to all for your assistance, and I can recommend Cadillac Parts and Restoration for any needs involving antique Cadillac parts. http://www.cprforyourcar.com/

I am in the process of partially restoring a 1947 Series 62 I rescued from the side of the road in Rochester, NY (where I also live). We have found (not much of a surprise) that the original flathead is both seized and fused to the also deteriorating transmission, and both cannot be salvaged.

I have a very short window (approximately one week) to come up with an alternative, and its looking like a flathead will not be an option. Please help! Need a complete engine, does not need to be running, just cannot be siezed.  I am prepared to swap out the engine for a 331 OHV V8 from the following year, but I would much prefer to maintain the flathead for a variety of reasons.

There are a few salvage cars on ebay right now...

Thanks Revvies, I've scoured the various selling platforms and found nothing that would advance my agenda...sadly these cars have been much more heavily abused even than mine (which thankfully sat in a private lot and wasn't missing a single piece of trim and had intact floors/frame).

I was hoping someone might have removed one from a working car for a transplant or something along those lines...seems there's not many of these engines left, and that was one of the reasons I wanted to keep a correct motor for mine! But thank you for the links!

You may be in luck. Kinda. I have a 1940 LaSalle parts car. It has a complete 322 cubic inch V8 and a transmission. I don't know if the engine turns or not. I don't know if the block is cracked. All I know is that the owner said it ran two years ago. Your engine is the same as mine except it's bored to displace 346 ci. Interested? Let me know.

Harry S: I've just left a message for Jeff, that's the most promising lead yet and he's only about a 6 hour drive from me.

Jamurray: Thank you, but given the very short timeline, I need to start with a block that I know is sound/not seized. I appreciate you reaching out though!
