This is the same character who tried to scam me and a man who bought a transmission from me, Jack Henton. He also tried to scam another man who was looking for fire truck tires. I started the investigation but it seems as though everyone else just let it pass.
The only way to catch him is to work with the FBI in a sting and I've done the research, so send me his number, and we will begin again.
So sorry you fell for this story, most scammers want money sent to a Wal-Mart. My ears were perked up a few seconds after he started his rap with me and I was doing my best to catch him all by myself but couldn't pull it off.
This fella needs to be caught. He is continually trolling the WANTED sections of old car clubs and gives everyone the same story.
Then again, I'm a journeyman at this, three separate scammers tried to get me to send money to see three different LaSalle coupe titles..send them money just to SEE the title!
One was in LA and I had a friend ready to go to his house (or ostensibly where the car was) and the scammer backed out at the last minute.
This is now great sport for me and don't underestimate me..I am the guy who tracked down my stolen Harley by going to the bike shops back in 1968 and one lead led to another and I got him at 2 o'clock in the morning in a pizza restaurant.

I was in New Jersey for my daughter's wedding, so now I am back at the helm of my life and my business
First off, I will send Carl a money order for the chevrons. With that out of the way, I will give you phone numbers and details I have fir this @$%#!*& crook that screwed me out of $ 300. 00
Incidently, he mentioned to me someone from Florida offered him $ 100. 00 for the parts, would I offer more? I said yes. His father had died, and he had to get the stuff out of the garage the same day: what should have been a red flag right there appeared to be OK, because he knew the stuff in detail.
I got screwed before from very prominent names from The Cadillac Club: I reported him to the club, way back in the middle 80's. His name I will keep to myself, for now. but he was riding high at the Club. To me , he was just a thief: sold me a 59 Cadillac coupe, so bad, that nothing could be salvaged. Arrived at the docks in Cape Town and literally turned almost into dust. I had paid $3000. 00 for the car and $2000. 00 more for the shipping. And yet 2 names of honest people I still remember: Jean Claude Ansquer and Tony Patricio. That thief's name is going to come out one of these days.
I will be more careful next time. Money seems to be a factor, some people will hand over their mothers to the devil for $$

I am surprised at myself for not remembering the name of the stocky fella who befriended me some 20 odd years ago in Indianapolis and offered to let me store the perfect complete front end of my '37 LaSalle coupe in his barn. When I went to retrieve it he refused to give it to me and threatened me with severe bodily harm. I did not pursue the matter legally and ultimately started buying parts for another front end. Then I gave the car to a friend, and just got it back after about 20 years. I have gone through some stressful trauma trying to piece together another dog-house assembly and all the component parts.
Does anyone recall buying an Admiral Blue '37 LaSalle front end from Indianapolis?

Carl,
If you don't mind me asking, what happened Here? Did he give this to you and re-neg on the deal? Did you buy it locally and ask him to store it until you could pick it up? Did you actually Pay for it? I'm curious (and Leery) about deals that go awry. Sorry that this happened to you.....
