Good evening,
I am looking for a source for vintage plates, specifically a 1954 North Carolina plate for my Fleetwood. I purchased one for my
56 cdv at the Charlotte (NC) Auto Fair a few years back, but with the event canceled this year, I was looking for an alternate source before the Fall event, which I still hope proceeds. Thank you!

There are several license plate dedicated clubs and forums out there. These would be the best bet to get a good deal on a specific plate. As with our Cadillacs the plate community honestly describes and evaluates condition. On some of the auction sites the older plates are fake, poorly restored, or would not end up in any true license plate collector's wall.

This is how I found and purchased my 1919 and 1918 Alabama plates. These are hard to find...until I asked a plate collector. Not cheap but I had confidence in what I was getting. these were not considered 'good' enough for collectors but were in original used condition - which the DMV requires in most states. My cars are drivers, when I can drive them, so I was happy.
