Hello,

Any suggestions on the appropriate cleaners / waxes / polishes for flat black Matte paint to avoid white powder residue?

Best regards,

Larry from Ammo NYC (one of the best detailers in the business) recently detailed a 1970 Mach 1 Mustang that had a black matte section on the hood. The following YouTube link will take you to the video were Larry breaks down matte paint, and goes over how to clean it. https://youtu.be/ET0uEn86Mz8?t=954

Thank you Andrew.

The video suggested 50/50 Rubbing Alcohol/Water solution.
Sounds scary lol.
Best regards.

oh, this is the kind of question that they love on auto geek.com . . . it's really he place to go for advice on shining a car and restoring paint.  Including the *really* drastic stuff.

The ringleader hand grinds & buffs oxidized stuff from the 40s into shiny, and puts on training sessions for pro paint restores.
