Bud Juneau was a long time editor of the "Self-Starter Annual".  In the 41 50th Anniversary issue (Volume #17)he told the story of the 41-60S show car which he owned at the time.  It had many special features including electric door window, division glass, gold plated trim in the rear compartment and chrome wheels.  It was a very special car in very original condition.  I got to visit him sometime in the 90's and see the car.  See attached picture.  I now would like to see it again but so far cannot find it.  Bud has passed and I believe but don't know for sure that he donated the car to some museum.  Does anyone know where the car is now.

Brad, I didn't know that Bud had passed and thanks for the heads up. The last time I saw the car was at Carson City GN. I ran my hand over the material in the rear seats. The wool was so tightly woven that it actually felt like doeskin. The only wear that I can remember was a couple of spots on the steering wheel which had been painted maroon. Probably from the chauffeur's thumbs. I've wondered about the car now and then, but have no idea where it ended up. You might call Dr. Zeiger in CA.

When Carl made copies of "all" of the SO 60S build sheets, he must have missed some. Alan copied all of the sheets that were in his literature that was donated to the Library and sent them to me. I didn't find Carl's car, Bud's car, or the one pictured in the 100 year Cadillac book. Nor the Kettering 60S, nor even Paul Phillip's blue car.

I hope to put together an article about the SO cars from the build sheets that I do have. There were about sixty sheets altogether. The story about this car started when the wife of the owner of the Southern Pacific RR saw it on display and wanted it. Gorgeous car!

If someone wants a 1941 60S Special Order car (with original power windows and burgundy interior), I'm sure Ann Steig would love to get it to a person with the means to restore it properly. She is in the Directory.
