1976 Sedan De Ville- Trim at the back, along the edge of the vinyl top.  Several of the small plastic hooks are missing and a few of the studs are broke off.  I have tried double adhesive 3M tape with no success.  What is the best way to attach this trim?  Thanks!

First question is do you have rust issues?  If you do,
there is really no way to re-attach the trim with
adhesive or tape.  Unfortunately, you'll have to
have the vinyl top removed and the rust issues
addressed.  Only then can you properly restore
the trim pieces using the correct clips.

The rust under the vinyl top will be obvious by
the bubbles that show up in the vinyl covering.

Back in the day they used to install those little clips with a pop rivit on cars that did not have a factory vinyl top.If all is well with no rust issues i would find a glass shop that does windshields and see if they have anything that would work.harveyb
