Pre-war (up to 1942) 1940 LaSalle 52 coupe door seals

Hello,

I am in the process of replacing the weatherstripping on the doors and would like to know if the seal is:
      used to go around the entire door
      used around 3/4 of the door and a different one used on the lower
      or not used at all at the bottom edge

My car doesnt show signs of weatherstripping at all on the lower edge of the door. This car has been in the family since the 60's and was repainted then as well. Can someone provide pictures of how the seal looks if it is indeed used on the bottom of the door?

  The Cadillac body Parts book from 1940,group B1.4370 calls for a weatherstrip part# 1092577. It is not the same as the door sides and top Group1.4360 part#4092263. Door construction was changing in 1939-1941, Even the Fisher books aren't clear as to what you need.Check with a rubber parts dealer like Lynn Steele,they will know what you need.

On my 1941 series 61 coupe it appears to be 2 pieces. One along the bottom that wraps up slightly at each end then a larger strip encompassing the balance of the door.
