1950s '54 series 62 possible to.move front seat further back

Hi all,
I was wondering if you guys know if it is possible to move the front seat further back. I believe that in the sixties and seventies there were extra holes (or elongated holes) in the seat rail so that the seat could be mounted further back a few inches.
I ask this because I find the I am pretty close to the pedals and steering wheel while the front seat is all the way back.

I dont think so I think it requires you to drill holes to facilitate the track moving further back.

Anything is possible.   If the factory re-positioning holes aren't useful or sufficient, the next best thing would be to extend the mounting plates on the seat bases to how much you need.

Simply welding 4 pieces of steel underneath the originals, and redrilling holes to suit the retaining bolts.   If one is concerned with the attachment of the plates raising the seat height, al be it that it will only be the thickness of the material used, then one could trim the old ones off, and replace them in the same place.

Don't go too far back with the seat, or you will be making some covers to cover the extenders.

Another method would be to simply move the mounting bolts further back in the floor, but that might mean having to create bracketry if the floor pressings fall away too much.

Whatever you do, it has to be stronger than original as you don't want it breaking under use.

Ever since I got my '55 CDV back on the road I have felt that the seat should travel further back than it does. I have it adjusted as far back as it will go, and it's comfortable enough, but it wouldn't be comfortable for someone much taller than me.
FYI I have the 4 way power seat.
I have always thought that maybe I installed my seat incorrectly but I'm not sure.
Would appreciate any comment from others who have 54,55,56 models

I have the same problem with all my 50s cars. But simply because I am rather ample of gut...
My Ford's have extra holes, so it's a simple matter of relocating the seat track to use the farthest forward holes on the track.
I'll need to check the seat track on my 56 convert to see if it has similar holes. If not, that's just one more chore to attend to.

I did a quick check and I think that there is one position that the seat tracks can be mounted. I do not want to drill new holes or weld new tracks. Then I just accept that this is what it is.
