Hello! I have a green wire in the truck to a speaker. Does the speaker get a single green wire connected to it? Should there be two?

My 61 rear speaker only has a single green wire.

Paul,

If you still have the original; speaker the negative side from the speaker connects to the speaker chassis  for the ground side. If you have a different speaker you will need to connect the negative side from it over to a chassis ground like one of the mounting screws.

Good luck..!

Careful. In my 59 there are two green wires to the trunk—-one is for the speaker and the other , if you have an automatic trunk pull down, is for the trunk tell tale light to alert the cluster your trunk is open.

I did a 1959 Oldsmobile 98 with new speakers from Turnswitch. They had the correct ohms and looked like the originals.

They screwed right in but as I remember the instructions stated to connect the one wire to the appropriate terminal and they gave you another wire to ground to the body via the other terminal and one of the studs the speaker was held down by.
