Hello, I'm a bit confused on how this piece is attached. Underneath the fabric are tack holes that attach it to the tack strips. The material that covers it has no holes in it so how is it attacked? the dome switch at the top will hold the top in but what about the rest of it? New headliner is hanging but not streched yet. There are other rear side panels that require the same type of attachment. Any help is appreciated as I'm real confused right now :)
Thanks
DK

I looked in Fisher Body lit of the period.

In  a 1939  Fisher Body service news, it tells how to remove the headliner. And some how to replace. The pillar is not covered.
In the 39-40 manual ,an short version of the same.
In a 1941 fisher body manual on pages 67-68 it does cover it for 1941.

Center pillar pad -blind tack through pad cover cloth, blue wading, cardboard and windhose to tacking strip, using one inch brads -pull pad cover cloth over head of brads.

I can see how you do one edge of it that way,but the second edge?   Tacks with big heads ,a block of wood on the cover cloth? Glue? If you would like a photo copy ,email me a post office address.
