Hi. Could any recommend a source to purchase a new power steering pump pulley for my 59 CDV- non air ride. Any help on where and what to purchase would be appreciated. Thank you.

New could be a tall order... Clean used is what we all have on our cars:)
I have no parts book to look up pulley interchange but if you were to look up the PS belt interchange, this may be a fairly reliable gauge to start your search?

Highly unlikely you're going to find a new one, but a good used  non-air ride pulley should be available pretty easily. Maybe even someone on here could help; try posting under parts wanted.

EDIT: Maybe @P.Manoogian or @Chuck Swanson can help as both are selling parts listed in "For Sale" section of this forum, just a thought.

Going by Bob's part #, Ebay shows an available pulley that you might want to contact the seller about before purchasing.

Could anyone tell me how to install this pulley? The common install tool from the local parts store will not work in this pulley. It is a press in pulley with a nut that rides the treaded shaft. Is it as simple as twisting the nut on? If so, is there a safe way to hold the pulley in place while tightening the nut?

Paul, according to the directions in the 1959 Cadillac Shop Manual, the pulley is just a "slide-on fit".  If the bore of the pulley is clean (no paint, rust Cosmoline, etc.) and the shaft is also clean of rust, etc., the pulley will slide over the woodruff key (half moon key) and shaft.  If you have removed the key and reinstalled it, that might cause a bit of an issue getting the pulley on if it is not in the bottom of its groove.  I have provided a copy of the page from the shop manual that tells about installing the pulley and how to prime the pump, if the pump has been overhauled.  Be sure to start reading starting under Fig. 5-22.

Thanks Daryl, getting the old pulley off was a chore- it did not come off easily. I have a new pulley. It's a press on. I was advised to heat the pulley at 300 degrees in the oven for 15-20 mins. Then press it on with the bolt. I was told I could also put the pump in the freezer for a couple hours so it would contract and be even easier to slip the pulley on. Seems reasonable to me. Has anyone tried this?

Update : I heated the pulley in the oven for about 20 mins at 350 degrees and it slipped on the shaft effortlessly.

That's good news!  It would seem that Cadillac should have included that bit of instructions in their service manual.
