Pre-war (up to 1942) Engine paint

I need a rattle can of 1940 Lasalle engine paint. On eBay they list paint for a 1941 48 . Is that a different green? If so, where can I get the correct color?

Is the green different 1941-1948? I thought 1936-1948 all had the same green.

I am not sure but I checked Amazon for paint and it listed 41 to 48 so that is why I was asking

Hirsch website has one Cadillac/Lasalle green 1935-1948 so it must all be the same color. They sell it in spray cans. I have always heard that is the best.

I used the spray can and the brush on LaSalle Green from Hirsch. They are both great.

Do you recommend priming the head before painting with Hirsch ? It is bare metal

Hate to be contrary, but according to the Bill Hirsh spec sheet, you do not need to prime cast iron parts. Just make sure they are clean with no oil, dirt, or flaking paint.
