I have question about single wire hose clamps aka Corbin Clamps.

When I find some online they are referred to by size, eg. 3/4", but where is this measurement taken?

On my 57' the heater hoses coming from the water pump are 3/4" inside diameter, but 3/4" single wire clamps are only approx. 11/16" inside diameter.

Obviously I need clamps with an inner diameter of 3/4" plus twice the hose wall thickness (or a little less for compression), a total of approx 1".
What would be size the designation of those?

Also, the radiator hoses are approx. 2" outer diameter - what size single wire clamps for those?

Heater hoses are rated for the ID of the hose. Most Corbin clamps are rated at the OD of the hose: for example, a 1/2" heater hose would require a 3/4" Corbin clamp and a 3/4" heater hose needs a 1" Corbin clamp.

Thanks, that makes sense - will get some 1" for the heater hoses and 2" for the radiator hoses (they are 1 3/4" ID) and check the fit.

Will be back  with the results some time in the New Year
