I used this battery as well and it crapped out after a year and a half

You know I love it when all the experts chime in. Like I said above check the battery first. I have had a few that only lasted a few weeks and when tested were gonzo. I am talking any brand.

If the car was starting fine and one day you needed to replace the battery (that was old) and then the problems crop up why start with the tough solutions first?

I get it if you have gone through 2 or 3 batteries in a short time.

While it could be another issue, testing the battery is easy. So eliminate easy first, use some logic. Too much of a coincidence for a new problem to crop up.

I agree however it was just easier for me to swap the battery out at the time since I wanted to enjoy the car and not spend an afternoon tracking down gremlins.  Since changing the battery she's always started with a flick of the key and has ran well with all the options running (lights, radio, etc).  Batteries are only 180 here so it wasn't too bad.

You actually did test the battery, dropped another one in and no problems. Conclusion the battery was no good.

Hope you got some money back for the battery warranty.

The battery was purchased by the previous owner and in Pittsburgh.  It was at no cost to me so getting another battery was no skin off of my teeth.

Quote from: Jon S on December 24, 2023, 04:08:04 PMYou have a Ford battery in your car. You should have a Group 27; NOT 27F.

What's the difference between the Ford electrons and the GM electrons? ;)

The difference between them is that Ford has the positive and negative posts on opposite sides.
Other than that, they are identical.

So that would effectively move the posts to the forward side of the battery as you would have to spin it around to match the polarity?

Yes, that's really the only difference.
The terminals are moved to the rear, or opposite side of the battery.

Whats everyone's consensus on the repro batteries?  Love to get some for both Cadillacs and the Olds.
