WTB 1958 coupe

Looking for clean 1958 62 or CDV. Pref.white but consider others. Mechanical work needed OK, no significant body work. Will pay fair price for clean car.

If you don't find one, they're getting scarce, contact me in a few months.   I might be selling.  white coupe, series 62, from SC.   Mine's just the opposite, all the mechanicals are done, but still tweaking.   Body is driver quality, but will eventually need some work.   It's a factory black car that's been painted blue, then white.   Chrome has been upgraded, and I have a few spare parts to go with it.   I was going to do the body work but have other project priorities.  It's stabilized been where it's at, but is in the condition I got it - amateur body work.

Otto Cadillac in Albany, N.Y. has probably the most incredibly original car I have ever seen.  It i a series 62 coupe, lite non metallic blue bottom, white top.  Appears plastic covers on since new.  The hood is a couple shades off in color, rest of car including chrome appears almost as new.  Car was locked, mileage looked to be ca.32,000. General Manager said dealer wanted 60,000 dollars.  I told him that was goofy price, but should be worth 30-35.  Its been on showroom long enough, maybe someone could talk to them.  Believe GM's  name is Ian..  I told them I was going to put info on CadLas forum.

I don't see $60K as "excessive" for a pristine '58.   CAAR lists a "10" series 62 coupe at $63K.   
They've increased and gotten scarcer.

I use to tell customers when they quoted prices for their trades from the nada book:  here's the book, see if they will give you that trade in

That's not the NADA book and not a trade-in situation.   CAAR and Hagerty's use current sales figures.
I think you're value is right for a sedan.   
Of course, without seeing the car...

As we use to say in the trade, the car "walks and talks".  With all m years in the hobby, I don't think I have seen a better original car.  Did not crawl underneath, and did not lift the hood.  But I am willing to bet that that is near perfect also. . Chrome, stainless, fit and finish, glass, just incredible.  Trust me, I gain nothing from my description.  I go there just for service work

Art if your 58 didnt need paint I'd jump on it.  Paint is so expensive these days its easier to have one already done.
