If someone feels $25 is not worth it to get a magazine, CLC membership and forum usage.. well  I won't complete the thought because I am sick of hearing about it. Give up a fast food trip once a year and you should be OK.

Life is about making decisions, adults make them all the time. So they made one.

It is definitely worth it.
But, there are several places to get info for free. The problem is that it isn't always the correct info.
So, you say, that's why it's worth joining. Agreed, but new people aren't going to pay for something they can get for free. They won't know the forum's value because they have to pay to get a sample.
I don't know that I would have paid 12 years ago because there were places back then to ask questions. I just found that this forum is absolutely the best.
But I wouldn't know that now if I was in the same position.

Well they can read the forum for free as I understand but cannot post.

So they should be able to read enough to determine if its worth it. So I am not sure what you are trying to say.

No one got kicked off. They made a choice not to join. A poor choice at that.

The new system has stopped many Spammers in their tracks, through IP Address checking, plus there are a number that are still trying to join by making up bogus CLC Membership Numbers.

Takes a bit of extra time for the Moderators to comb through, but well worth it.

I'm not sure how many people try to register for this site in any given day, so I don't know the time it takes to weed through them. But, what if you made any new registrant have to be physically approved by a Mod or Admin? I mean I see how many people join the actual Club every month, but that doesn't mean they register for forum use.

Upon joining the Club and paying dues, the new person could be issued a code or an access number in which they could use to join the forum, therefore eliminating a Mod having to go through the screening process and approving the newcomer.

Just thinking aloud.

New Forum Members are approved every day.

When a new Member joins the CLC, they are given their Membership Number, which has to be quoted when joining the Forum, and the time before they are physically approved, the time in most cases is a few hours.

But, even those trying to join, without actually receiving a Membership Number (Paying the Fees), still try and join, and using a fictitious number finds them being rejected.

PS.   Just as I finished this post, we had a new Member join, using a CLC Number that wasn't theirs, and it turned out to be a prolific Russian Spammer, so he was rejected.

Cannot give away all our secrets, but the Moderators are only doing what the Webmaster has directed us to do as a minimum.   There are oter checks, but cannot post them here in case Spammers are reading this post, which they, or any other person can do, and then try to manipulate those.
