When new, on the bottom of the front license plate bumper opening there was a small trim piece that covered the split in the middle where the bumper was stamped. It was held on with a phillips head screw and they years later are almost always missing and there seems to be no spares ( I have searched ). So I obtained a 1/4 inch square piece of brass and formed one myself from memory of the one on my Mothers 1968 Cadillac that she bought at one year old. 4 hours of labor later, done, My memory works that way.

Close enough Bill !
Remember to tighten it up once in a while. Don't ask me why I recommend this.

Thank you Mike. Actually I did not drill and tap the part, I epoxied it in place. Secure.

Ok, but remember the heat factor here. Check it once in a while anyway.

I'm afraid you will loose it sooner or later. That nice ornament is at the junction of two elements which may have some relative movement. Screw and epoxy could be the real deal!

Nice work Bill! And yesterday I added to a post on making our own parts. A good example. Well done. I am inclined to agree with Roger that a screw with epoxy would be best. Clay/Lexi
