I am working on a 47 Fleetwood for a fellow and would like to know the proper hose clamps to use. Are they the double wire style, Wittek tower style, or the compression band style. This car was restored 30 years ago and currently has the Wittek tower clamps but that does not seem correct. Thanks in advance for your replies.

The double wire type would be correct.  The Wittek
type came years later.  Off hand, I don't know of a source
but I'm sure an internet search will be fruitful.

The parts books only call them by size not by style.

1947 is a year that Cadillac didn't issue much new, so trying to pin point things is rough.

The only picture I found was page39 (cover of Sept 1947) of the  1947 Cadillac Serviceman. It is clear that the wire type was used on the radiator hose. The heater hose appears to be Band type.  The ignition wires are in the way. And who knows when the picture was taken. I sure wouldn't take it as proof. With post war shortages, whatever they could get could be the rule.

The Wittek tower clamps, the signal wire compression and modern cross screw are all newer.  I don't recall ever seeing two wire that small. Were they made?
